DV HIMSS Scholarship for Undergraduate Students in Healthcare & Technology

The Delaware Valley Chapter of the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (DV HIMSS) offers a scholarship to support students pursuing careers in healthcare sciences, allied health, technology, medical informatics, healthcare management, and healthcare public policy.

Applicant must submit an essay not exceeding 500 words for the following prompt: How would you contribute to advancing the quality, efficiency and lowering the cost of care delivery?

  • Complete the application form along with at least one letter of recommendation (provided by peers, colleagues, managers, or professors) and a resume/curriculum vitae.
  • Letter from your academic institution indicating that you will be/are enrolled in their undergraduate program and in good academic standing
  • All applications and supporting documents must be posted through the application form below

Delaware Valley Chapter – DV HIMSS
Level of Study Bachelor’s Degree (programs at accredited institutions)
Purpose To provide financial assistance to students in healthcare sciences, allied health, technology, medical informatics, healthcare management or healthcare public policy
Focus Health care services and technologies
Qualifications ·   Applicant must be Resident of the area or attending school in the Delaware Valley / Greater Philadelphia region (includes parts of New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Delaware)

·   Applicant must be a student of an accredited undergraduate program related to the healthcare sciences, allied health, technology, medical informatics, healthcare management or healthcare public policy

·   Applicant must be enrolled in at least six (6) credit hours for the semester of award (Fall 2026)

·   Applicant is not currently serving on one of the HIMSS boards

·   Must be able and willing to serve on the DV HIMSS committee(s) as a student liaison
Criteria Selection will be based on the committee’s criteria.
Funds 2 undergraduate awards will be granted for the academic year 2026-2027– 1st Student award for $5,000 and the 2nd Student award for $2500
