Lesia Peck, Grand View Health

Most recently, Lesia Peck oversaw the Health Information Management department for Grand View Health in Sellersville, Pennsylvania. In her role she oversaw  release of information, coding, transcription, image processing, recovery audit contracting, and HIPAA Privacy to ensure patients are receiving their medical information in a timely manner and that the department is meeting the demands of the revenue cycle.

Prior to working at Grand View, Lesia oversaw the HIM department for Sinai Hospital in Baltimore. She spent a few years consulting and implementing parts of the electronic health record for 3M Health Information Systems. Lesia has sat on multiple boards including the Pennsylvania Health Information Management Association Board and the Board for the University of Pittsburgh HIM undergraduate program.

Lesia has a Bachelor’s in Health Information Management from the University of Pittsburgh and Master’s in Health Informatics from Temple University. She is a Registered Health Information Administrator and holds a Project Management Professional certification. She is also certified in analytics, privacy and six sigma. She is a Fellow of the Health Information Management Association.

Lesia enjoys spending time with her two children. In her spare time she likes to run in the summers, ski in the winters and travel to interesting places year round.

Lesia is interested in giving back to her profession. Being a member of the DVHIMSS Board affords the opportunity to give back as well as continue to develop and lead in the ever growing areas of Healthcare and Information Technology.

Ryan Mickley, The Denzel Group

As a Sr. account Manager and Executive/Technical Recruiter with The Denzel Group specializing in IT/EMR/EHR, I have witnessed the transformative power of technology in healthcare. The Delaware Valley HIMSS Chapter plays a crucial role in integrating IT to enhance patient care and operational efficiency throughout the area.

My decision to pursue board membership stems from my commitment to this mission and to support our chapter’s growth. With a strong network composed of large healthcare organizations in PA, NJ, NY and DE, I have developed a deep understanding of local healthcare IT challenges and opportunities. I aim to leverage my expertise in strategic planning and relationship building to help our chapter continue its success in adapting to the ever changing landscape of healthcare IT.

I am passionate about contributing to the growth and success of the Delaware Valley HIMSS Chapter. I respectfully request your support in my candidacy.

Tam Nguyen, Cooper University Health Care

I am a Clinical Informatics Pharmacist at Cooper University Health Care with 14 years of experience in healthcare, including 8 years in inpatient hospital pharmacy and the past 5 years in healthcare IT. I hold a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and am Board Certified in Pharmacotherapy. In my current role, I serve as an Epic Willow Analyst and act as the liaison between pharmacy and IT to implement solutions that standardize workflows and improve efficiency across departments. I also lead the IT department employee engagement committee and serve as a Cooper Innovation Center Fellow.

My passions include strengthening the innovation ecosystem in healthcare, continuous learning, and community engagement. I am currently pursuing CPHIMS certification and have actively contributed to innovative initiatives, including being a finalist in the first Cooper SDOH Hackathon and helping organize the second where winners presented at the HIMSS Global Conference. I enjoy event planning and creating opportunities for professional development. Volunteering with the DVHIMSS Programs Committee has been a rewarding experience, and I’ve found the HIMSS community to be incredibly supportive and inspiring.

As a board member, I hope to contribute by expanding engagement, fostering innovation, and creating meaningful connections across our healthcare IT community. I am committed to increasing engagement within DVHIMSS and encourage others to get actively involved, starting with my colleagues. I believe in the power of in-person events to spark collaboration and growth, and I’m excited for the opportunity to help coordinate impactful programming that brings people together. Serving on the DVHIMSS board would be an honor and a natural extension of my passion for innovation, education, and community-building.

Trish DeLisi, Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia

I am running for reelection to continue my commitment to advancing the intersection of healthcare and technology.

I started my professional career writing for a health care technology business to business magazine, and have considered this experience a high light of my professional development.

Health care technology has the potential to revolutionize patient care. By leveraging electronic health records, telemedicine, and AI-driven diagnostics, we can enhance patient outcomes and streamline care delivery. My goal is to ensure that technological advancements are implemented with the patient’s best interests at heart.

The patient’s voice is close to my heart, as I constantly have to speak up and advocate for my own daughters in the health care environment. I live and breath it every day at work and as a parent, and improving patient care through technology has become a passion and my own mission.

Gemma E Lowery, ChristianaCare

I am currently the Technology Manager for Digital Solutions at ChristianaCare’s Center for Virtual Health. I collaborate with a diverse group of executive leadership, clinical, technical, operational, and other key stakeholders to explore, research, and implement new and innovative approaches to Virtual Care. Examples of my work include use cases such as eICU transformations, the development and implementation of our mobile health vans, the formation of our Hospital Care at Home program, and the development of Virtual Nursing. Relationship building and facilitating change management efforts are also key aspects of my role. My previous positions include work as the Virtual Health Program Manager and eICU Operations Coordinator for the health system. Additionally, I serve as a member of multiple committees for the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) and function as an Advisory Board member of the Mid-Atlantic Telehealth Resource Center (MATRC). Working with these groups expands my knowledge base beyond my geographic area and allows for excellent collaboration with diverse groups.

Telehealth and virtual tools offer methods for delivering healthcare to patients that can help expand access to care and reduce current healthcare disparities. Working with an organization like HIMSS to help shape the future landscapes of healthcare and technology holds significant appeal for me. Representing diverse thought processes, lived experiences, and societal perspectives is crucial to addressing problems such as inequalities and inequities. I would love the opportunity to make a positive impact from within the board structure.

Joy Iocca, Penn Medicine

Joy Iocca, MSN, RN, CEN, CPHIMS is Senior Director of Clinical Informatics within the Chief Health Informatics Office at Penn Medicine, steering enterprise‑wide clinical‑decision‑support strategy, EHR wellness initiatives, and emergency‑preparedness projects. A decade at the bedside as an emergency‑department nurse and 13 years in IT/Informatics have made her adept at translating clinical priorities into scalable Epic solutions and guiding interdisciplinary teams through complex go‑lives. Joy is an active member of HIMSS and AMIA and often represents Penn Medicine’s Center for Applied Health Informatics (CAHI) at the AMIA Clinical Informatics Conference, Epic XGM/UGM, and regional HIMSS events. When not optimizing workflows, she channels the endurance of an avid triathlete—energy that fuels every initiative she leads. Within DVHIMSS, Joy has served the past two years as Membership Co‑Chair, hosting organizational‑affiliate networking events and designing the educational tracks for the Spring Symposium and NJDVHIMSS Fall Conference. Statement of Candidacy Informatics lets me turn good ideas into daily practice, and DVHIMSS shows that our field advances fastest when technology and people evolve together. As Membership Co‑Chair I launched organizational‑affiliate networking events, curated high‑value education tracks for our Spring Symposium and Fall Conference, and expanded membership through direct outreach to nurses, physicians, and IT teams. I’ve also represented Penn Medicine’s CAHI at AMIA CIC and Epic XGM/UGM, sharing practical lessons that reinforce our region’s leadership in clinical informatics. I’m seeking re‑election to build on this momentum—welcoming more regional providers into DVHIMSS, advancing work on CDS, governance, and EHR‑downtime readiness, and mentoring emerging informatics professionals, all with the persistence of a triathlete. I’d value your vote and continued support.

Liana Romero PhD MBA MT ASCP, Danaher Corporation

Hello everyone! I’m Liana Romero, and I’ve been a member of the Delaware Valley HIIMSS Chapter (DVHIMSS) for over 12 years. During the past 5 years, I’ve served on the Board of DVHIMSS and been the Board’s treasurer since 2023. My 25-year career in healthcare and medical devices has allowed me to evolve as the demands for effective and efficient healthcare IT augment with the ever-increasing number of patients, the need for better quality of care, and payer challenges. I’ve been privileged to work in product and life-cycle management, global marketing, and commercial strategy for cutting-edge enterprise informatics and AI solutions. I’ve witnessed the significant changes that the widespread implementation of AI solutions can make to facilitate better patient care. I’m committed to continuing to support DVHIMSS as the Board’s treasurer, an essential and consequential role, and together with my fellow Board members, drive educational content for our membership that reflects that need for and the use of innovative IT solutions for patients and providers, thus ensuring patients have the best outcomes throughout their healthcare journies.

David Scher MD, FACP, FACC, FHRS, FESC, DLS HEALTHCARE CONSULTING, LLC

David Lee Scher, MD, FACP, FACC, FHRS, FESC was a pioneer adopter of remote patient monitoring for cardiac rhythm devices in 2000 as a pilot investigator for Medtronic and interoperability of remote monitoring into an EHR in 2002 with Medtronic and St. Jude Medical. He is a digital health technology thought leader, internationally recognized blogger (The Digital Health Corner) and consultant. He served as Chair of the HIMSS Mobile Health Roadmap Task Force and member of HIMSS Mobile Health Physicians Committee. Dr. Scher was chair of a blue-ribbon panel commissioned by Happtique in 2012 the first organization to develop standards for certification for mobile medical apps. Scher’s past experiences as IRB Chair, clinical investigator, and Medicare advisory committee member provides a well-rounded perspective of challenges and opportunities for digital health technology. His client list includes Happtique, Parallel 6, Medivu, SpeechMed, nQ Medical, Pulse Infoframe, Medivu, W Gore, St Jude Medical, Sorin,Frontline Medical Communications, Samsung Health, WebMD/Medscape, and others. Dr. Scher has been a keynote speaker at global healthcare and digital health conferences. Scher is currently a Board member of the DVHIMSS Chapter and member of the HIMSS Physician Committee. He is a former cardiac electrophysiologist and is an Adjunct Associate Professor of Medicine at Pennsylvania State College of Medicine. I am pursuing another term as a DVHIMSS Board member because of all mu positive experiences on the board this past term.  I feel that my experiences as advocacy committee chairperson has added a different perpective to the Board’s mission in connecting with the clinical community.

Cole Lyons,  University of Pennsylvania Health System

Cole Lyons is an experienced healthcare innovation catalyst and quality management professional currently serving as a Quality Management Analyst at Penn Medicine, where he leverages cutting-edge AI technologies, including speech analytics and natural language processing, to drive operational efficiency. He is also the co-founder of The American Journal of Healthcare Strategy, recognized as the largest healthcare strategy journal globally.

Previously, as Senior Engagement Partner at Jefferson Health Plans, Cole successfully led transformative initiatives, notably implementing an advanced Medicare repository that significantly streamlined workflows and reduced issue resolution times by over 75%. His expertise extends into population health management, where he redesigned outreach programs, achieving measurable improvements in patient compliance and satisfaction.

Cole holds an MBA in Innovation & Management and is pursuing a Master’s in Health Systems Engineering from Johns Hopkins University. His multidisciplinary background, combined with his passion for healthcare innovation and technical excellence, positions him uniquely to contribute to the DVHIMSS Board.
