Priyanka Shah, Principal Project Engineer

Priyanka Shah is a principal project engineer at ECRI where she integrates human factors engineering (HFE) and safety science into consulting projects, risk assessments, and clinical operations for ECRI’s clients. She also provides HFE-specific education, workshops and training. Through ECRI’s testing lab, she performs medical device evaluations, investigates system failures, develops practical guidance for healthcare facilities, conducts accident investigations, and consults healthcare facilities on pre-purchase selection, and appropriate use of medical equipment, and health IT systems. She is the lead subject matter expert on patient monitoring, alarm management, telehealth, usability testing, human factors, health information technology (HIT) safety and electronic health records (EHRs). Ms. Shah came to ECRI in 2015 with a background in research engineering and program management. She holds an MS degree in Biomedical Engineering from Purdue University.
